A school year metaphor if ever there was. Shiny, new, even hopeful sneak ready to take on back-to-school.

The other is an end-of-year sneaker. Tired, a bit worse for wear, but also comfortable and unfazed by anything that might come its way.

Both have their strengths.

As you head back to your speech room or classroom, remember new and shiny isn’t always better (can you say blister?) Your students are grateful to see YOU.

SLPs are often one of the more consistent adults in a child’s life. Most kids take comfort already knowing what your room looks like and how speech “works.” Don’t kill yourself trying to freshen and update ☀️
