Triangles

Here’s another quick pencil and paper game that will get you a high number of trials during articulation therapy while keeping the enthusiasm of your students high.  And because it’s so easy to play, it’s a perfect activity to send home too.

Materials:

Triangle board with target words

Pen or pencil

Set Up:

It’s literally a triangle made up of dotted tiers.  Between the dots you write your target word.  The Artic Attack workbooks include pre-made sheets for s, z, and r in all positions, including blends.

To Play:

Alternate taking turns by joining two dots, saying the word that is crossed out.  When a player completes a triangle, they put their initials in it and take one more turn.

Tri it, you’ll like it!

Please take a moment to read my article, “Articulation Games from a Drill Sergeant,” in the current edition of Advance for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.  I think a high number of trials/session is critical to moving kids through therapy and am always on the lookout for fun ways to make this happen.
